The Divine Teachings and Manuscripts of the Great Father of Siddha Medicine
Sage Agastya is revered as one of the **Saptarishis** (seven great sages) of Vedic civilization. He is regarded as the father of Tamil literature, creator of the first Tamil grammar book (*Agathiyam*), and the pioneer of **Siddha Medicine**—a system of holistic healing using herbs and minerals. Sages like Agastya attained high states of consciousness (Siddhis), allowing them to transcend the limitations of time and space.
Among the various schools of Nadi Astrology (such as Bhrugu Nadi, Sukha Nadi, and Siva Nadi), the **Agasthiya Nadi** holds a special position due to its unique features:
The palm leaves written by Sage Agastya are preserved inside special libraries at Vaitheeswaran Koil. Since dried palm leaves have a natural lifespan of 300 to 400 years, traditional families have historically copied the text onto fresh leaves every few centuries, preserving the text letter-for-letter. Our center—Sri Agasthiya Maha Siva Naadi Jothida Nilayam—takes pride in preserving and interpreting these authentic Agasthiya bundles under the guidance of Guruji Ramachandran Swamy.
